After a two year break, Polara reformed to do some festival shows in the summer of 2005. This EP accompanied that run of dates. In some ways, the sessions for these tracks could be seen as the genesis of the recording process for the next Polara album Beekeeping, which wouldn't come out until 2008.

Ed Ackerson formed Polara with drummer Peter Anderson, guitarist Jennifer Jurgens, and bassist Jason Orris, continuing his interest in 1960s psychedelic pop but adding a heavy element of Krautrock-inspired electronics and keyboards.[11] Polara was Ackerson's first band to gain significant national attention. I'm still a little blown away by the fact that one of my guitar influences released an instrumental guitar album on the same day as me and I didn't realize it.
